Character List

Easily one of the most recognisable characters out of the Star Wars EU (or Legends, as it's now known) and pretty much my favourite, as evidenced by how often I've picked him for RP purposes. In fact, he was the first one I ever played, and I feel like this is a good opportunity to jump back in.
A quick summary: He's a fighter pilot, the best that the Rebellion/New Republic has, and as such he ends up going through some of the toughest assignments of the conflict. When Rogue Squadron was re-formed, he was its leader, and led the squad on a variety of missions, not the least of which was taking down the defenses of Coruscant, or the liberation of Thyferra, for which the entire squadron resigned and operated as an independent force. Following this, he went on to form Wraith Squadron, a unit based on combining pilot and commando skills in one package. That kept him busy for some time, during which he, together with Han Solo, orchestrated strategies that removed Warlord Zsinj as a threat to the New Republic. He went on to lead some of the most important battles of the war, both in and out of a cockpit, rose the rank of General, and, at the point I'm picking him up from, finally went and did the most difficult thing he's ever had to face: confessed his love for Iella Wessiri, an intelligence officer who's more than his equal.
Other than his most notable quality of being a great pilot, he's also a leader who feels a deep responsibility towards the people under his command, and values a sense of honour in all that is done. If an order can be creatively interpreted so as to keep his pilots alive and away from committing atrocious acts, he will do so. When faced with a situation where his orders are in direct opposition to his morals, he will refuse - as happened with the mass resignation of the Rogues. He's also surprisingly young considering his accomplishments, being not even 40 at the point where I'm bringing him from. He does sometimes struggle with a sense of regret, and under the surface, there is some fairly serious survivor's guilt - not surprising, considering how many friends and pilots he's outlived at this point. And despite his preference for peace, there's no denying that he has one of the highest kill counts of any character in the franchise. Once he's in the cockpit and flying for his life, he becomes the stuff of nightmares for his enemies.
